Professional Artist Elinor Mossop.

Elinor Mossop graduated in May 2011 from the New School University after studying Integrated Design (at Parsons School of Design) and Interdisciplinary Science (at Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts). She is interested in the intersection of art and science, particularly in ways that art and design can help to communicate concepts in science, but also in how science can be an inspiration while making art. She is intrigued by science as a subject for art not only for its many invisible and mysterious aspects, but the everyday importance of it too. Science is describing the world around us, yet often at a level invisible to the naked eye. In a similar way, art frequently describes and interprets the world we encounter. These parallels between art and science are interesting considering the two disciplines are often placed at opposite ends of the spectrum of learning. Furthermore, the learning and understanding of many scientific concepts is undoubtedly aided by visual representation. Elinor is currently continuing to experiment with both traditional and digital drawing and animation in this area.
