Files
A set of seven metal files was discovered during the examination and mechanical cleaning of a concretion that was affixed to the bottom of the recovered gun tube.

Each file was triangular in shape and tapered into a “rat-tail” in the end. They have an average length of 28.5 cm, width of 7 cm, are 10cm thick and weigh on average 3 pounds. The files were all wrapped together in organic fibers. A blank file has the initials “S.A.” stamped into it, though it is unsure what they refer to. All seven of the files were placed in electrolysis for conservation. Additional information may be obtained once this process is completed.
