Tiled Drawings and Micrographs

Artist Elinor Mossop tiled the drawings and micrographs from the SEM of Lake George testate amoebae, as well as drawings of Lake George and archaeological drawings of the colonial bateaux and dock, and reduced it in scale to create a textured landscape for the testate amoebae to crawl across. The tiled and shrunken design was transferred onto a very thin layer of epoxy spun onto a silicon wafer using nanolithography. The amoebae's pseudopodial activities when encountering the textures were then observed and recorded.
