Public Outreach, 2007-2008 Bateau "Wreck" Replica

Over the 2007-2008 school year, Bateaux Below assisted Technology teachers and their students at the Maple Avenue Middle School (Saratoga Springs, New York) in the construction of a 31 foot long replica of a 1758 bateau wreck. With local and state government permission the "wreck" was sunk in the shallows of the lake next to a popular walkway in the Village of Lake George. The replica "wreck," for pedestrian viewing, gives non-divers the opportunity to view what a colonial bateau shipwreck would look like.
