1758 Land Tortoise Radeau Listed on National Register and as National Historic Landmark

In 1995, the 1758 Land Tortoise radeau was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and in 1998, the one-of-a-kind shipwreck, described by historian, Dr. Russ Bellico, as "North America's oldest intact worship," was designated a National Historic Landmark. The 1758 Land Tortoise is only the sixth shipwreck in American waters with that NHL recognition.
