Painting

While a variety of colors are used, the boat builders painted the ahima donated to the Museum of Underwater Archaeology with colors that reflect the Ghana national flag. The entirety of the construction – from the moment a tree is selected, to the moment the last section of paint dries – takes between two to four weeks depending on the number of boat builders involved.
