Bateaux Recovery 1965
The July 27, 1965 issue of the New York Times published an article entitled "Lake George Divers Find 1758 Battle Craft." The news story reported that New York State Police divers had a "summer-training program" in which they dived upon sunken bateaux in the waterway. One photograph in the article showed divers handing pieces of bateaux to personnel board a New York State Police pontoon boat.
