Tow-Boarding

One of the methods used to find shipwrecks is called tow-boarding. Tow-boards are small, usually no more than two feet square, made of plastic or wood with handles attached to the top. A line is attached from the board to the tow boat and divers hold the handles while being towed through the water at low speeds using a snorkel or scuba to breathe. Divers can easily control their movement side to side, as well as up and down by adjusting the position of the board. Gliding through the water behind the boat feels like flying while looking for shipwrecks. When a diver sees something that looks like wreckage, they release the tow-board and swim down to investigate.
